We need your help this Ramadan

Salam Alaikum,

Let me cut to the chase. I am not particularly good at fundraising and this is the only message I am going to send out on the subject. I tend to believe, probably a little idealistically, that if you build something of quality and people like it, then they will invest in it. And Alhamdulillah, without much of a ‘hard sell’ that has happened. We are blessed to have amazing Patrons and we receive regular financial contributions from around the world.

The Thinking Muslim Podcast is moving from strength to strength. This month alone we have managed to publish two podcasts a week, keeping developments and analysis on Gaza alive, but also developing on our theme, to consolidate wider intellectual learning.

Some highlights since we launched our video podcast 14 months ago:

• Although we never aim for numbers, valuing our quality, we are now alhamdulillah on nearly 150,000 subscribers.

• We have produced at least a high-quality interview a week (sometimes two).

• We have built a wonderful team of dedicated volunteers. We have around a dozen researchers, branding and marketing people, and administrators. One show alone takes up to a day of research time.

• We have two full-time editors and pay an external agency to run much of our social media, producing shorts.

• We have a very good reputation as a platform that aims for quality, and that has allowed us, alhamdulillah, to invite some of the most expert guests, Muslims and non-Muslims, onto the show.

• We have built two permanent studios, one in London and another in Istanbul.

What we plan to do in the coming year:

• We plan to produce a new podcast aimed at a younger audience.

• We are looking to enhance our current podcast format, to include more graphics and explainers.

• We would love to be in a position where we can produce explainer videos.

• We want to use our platform to host courses.

• I want to write more in-depth pieces (on here).

• We want to host more in-person conferences.

• We would like to conduct more interviews abroad. This requires us to make our facilities mobile. We plan to make a trip to the United States and to several African countries over the next year, Inshallah

All of this can only be fully realized with your help.

There are two ways to contribute. Ideally through becoming a Patron and contributing a monthly sum. In return, you can attend regular calls with me and a special guest (last month we had Ahmed Paul Keeler).
