Muhammad Jalal, great commentary and very powerful in reminding our community that what is for another place and time is not always appropriate for the here and now. Far too often lots of Muslims overreach by wanting to appear religiously 'superior' to other human beings for their Muslim or other religious audiences. As you stated, "Islam as a faith should be left to flourish as long as it does not make unreasonable demands upon the actions and lifestyles of others." We should live and let live. This also speaks to LGBTQ Muslims who maintain their faith in the Quran and live their lives as Believers. What many Muslim parents fail to recognize is that the possibility of their own child(ren) may become a member of the LGBTQ community in the future as they come into their own Muslim "personhood" cannot be ignored.
