"The System Buys Our Souls"

4

I am often asked, ‘How can I help my ummah?’ My answer remains pretty unsophisticated: 'Whatever you can do.’

What I mean by this is don’t stand still. Open as many doors as you can. Allah will not ask you whether you managed to liberate Al Aqsa, but he will ask you what you did when there was a genocide taking place. The difference is important. You are accountable for your deeds, and Allah, in His ultimate Mercy, will consider your actual capabilities, not what you believe your current lifestyle can accommodate.

This does not mean everyone has to do the same activity or subscribe to a singular vision. Change will occur through multiple pathways. But it does mean you cannot stand still. For some, this may mean providing finances; for others, it will mean setting up collectives; and for others, it may mean creating meaningful educational institutes that foster a new generation of active thinkers.

We don’t know whether Al Aqsa and the blessed lands will soon be liberated. But we must actively help a generation, now or in the future, be ready to do this.

I do not naturally enjoy fundraising (as my team always reminds me). But if you feel The Thinking Muslim is making a change, then please become a monthly member. Knowing we have a regular revenue stream lets us plan and build a professional team and expand our operations.

Finally, please keep us in your sincere duas on this, the final odd night of Ramadan. We ask Allah for his mercy, forgiveness and His victory.
